Virtual Primary Care

Primary Care is provide virtually, to California residents.
  • If you want normal outcomes your MD will be a good fit.  If you want better outcomes an acupuncturist who also practices primary care will be a better fit.
  • Our patients do not typically develop chronic pain, or chronic illness
  • Our patients don’t need drugs for the side effects of other drugs, because they are treated appropriately within the window of opportunity to reduce the risk of developing chronic illness.
  • If you want to age better, and have better quality of life other options are available.
  • LabCorp is our preferred lab since they offer better fees for cash patients.
  • Primary Care patients are sent for STD testing, and only medically necessary labs/imaging.
  • My relationships with patients are life-long it is my responsibility to stay up to date on the literature, education and direct your healthcare in order to obtain better results than are possible with your MD’s.
  • My (private practice) surgical patients do not develop life long, chronic pain after surgery.
  • None compliant patients are discharged from care.  I do not obtain results because patients do whatever they please.  We obtain results because patients trust me with their lives.
  • In practice since 2008.
  • No nonsense- healthcare
  • I don’t practice Holistic Medicine.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

I wouldn’t call this an alternative to botox, botox causes thinness of the skin, and restrict movement. You have to continually obtain botox.

This procedures is longer lasting, and has psychological benefits.

First you will require an evaluation as the doctor has to make sure you are a good candidate. You will require multiple sessions.   Results vary based on age, hormones, and health.

The healthier and younger you are the faster the results.

Scope of Practice

Acupuncture is provided by state licensed Acupuncturists (L.Ac.), who are required to hold a Master’s degree as an entry-level standard, for professional practice in the U.S. prior to examination and licensure.

In the state of California, an licensed acupuncturist is considered a primary health care professional who has the ability to diagnose, prescribe and administer treatments. Place orders for laboratory testing and imaging testing (MRIs and such if medically necessary).

The scope of an acupuncturist’s license authorizes the holder thereof to engage in the practice of acupuncture, to perform or prescribe the use of acupressure, breathing techniques, exercise, heat, cold, magnets, nutrition, diet, herbs, plant, animal and mineral products, and dietary supplements to promote, maintain and restore health.

California is the only state that has its’ own licensing board and exam, all other states where acupuncture is regulated issue licenses based on passing the national exam from the NCCAOM (acupuncturists are tested on biomedicine, acupuncture, oriental theory and herbal medicine prior to receiving their state license).

For safety and to ensure proper referral of patients to other medical providers, acupuncturists must study at least 86 units in Biomedicine: Medical terminology, biology, chemistry, psychology, physics, anatomy, physiology, bio-chemistry, research methodology, nutrition, general pathology, systemic pathology, endocrinology, neuroscience, physical diagnosis, pharmacology, clinical medicine, differential diagnosis, case management, public health, ethics, and practice management.  Plus an additional 126 units of; acupuncture theory, therapy, techniques, acupressure, Chinese herbal medicine theory, single herbs, herbal formulas, Oriental Medicine theory, diagnosis, and internal medicine along with close to one thousand hours (960 hour) of clinical training.

The scope of practice of acupuncturists are different in each state.  Please check with your regulating state board.  All acupuncture information on this website pertains to California state regulations and may be specific to my areas of specialty, interest and expertise.
